PhD Position / Research Assistant Development Economics ETH Zurich

The Center for Development and Cooperation (NADEL) at ETH Zurich is offering a doctoral student position in Development Economics ; starting time February/March 2013.

We are looking for a PhD student who has a strong interest in research related to (a) Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) or (b) Microfinance in developing countries.

Applicants should have a qualified degree in economics or statistics and should fluently speak and write English. Knowledge of German and/or French is helpful but not required. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quantitative methods and is interested in developing economies. Candidates should also be willing to travel for extensive field work to sub-Saharan Africa. The candidate should further bring along good communication skills to work in interdisciplinary and international teams. Besides own research the PhD student will participate in ongoing research and teaching activities while being at ETH Zurich.
